Much like microphotos, macro
images are also wonderful
examples of the abstract and fractal structure of nature
at the close-up scale. Several of the images in this
gallery were used for the collages in the 2005 Elements
in Golden Ratio Series.
These images were taken with Olympus OM-1 and Nikon
F-100 35-mm cameras, and I used
Fuji Provia slide film and then scanned the slides at 3,200
dpi using an Epson 1680 scanner to convert to digital file
formats. I also now use digital capture methods with
a Nikon D-70 and Sony DCR-TRV27 digital cameras, and an Epson
1680 flatbed scanner for many of the tree leaf images shown
here. These
185 images are new for 2006.
